Capitalism vs.Communism vs. Today

 Capitalism and Communism are very different from each other. These preferences of a type of government do not go together. One major difference between both styles of government is the “means of production”.

 Communism is a totalitarian government. A totalitarian government is when the government has total control over the public and private lives of actions of the citizens of that state. Meaning that everything that you own, everything you do is controlled and owned by the government. If you live in a house, that house isn’t really yours, it’s owned by your government. Your house can be taken away from you without your control. Also in a communist government, no free enterprise is allowed. Free enterprise is the freedom for private businesses to operate for a profit without interference from the government. Wealth is distributed equally throughout the people. There is no class difference, everybody is equal to each other. The main focus is the progress of the state as a whole. Some countries that follow a communist government today is the Soviet Union, Eastern Europe, Asia, and Africa. Communism started

In Russia in 1917.

 Capitalism is a democratic government. A democratic government is a government formed by the people. The major power of people is vested by the people. Everybody has a say in the government. In this form of government, you can own a house and stay in it without being put out of your house by the state. In a democratic government, there is a free enterprise. Free enterprise in a democratic government is when people can have a business and not have it interference with the government. In a capitalist government, there are class distinctions. There is a high class and a lower class. The higher class are the rich and the lower class are the poor. Last but not least in a democratic government there is freedom of the press. Freedom of press meaning that anybody can write an article about anything and everything and give it to the newspaper or radio talk shows.
